In-Home & Semi-Independent Services

In-Home support services and Semi-Independent Living Services (SILS) are typically provided on an hourly basis in the client’s, or their family’s home.  In-Home and SILS services are individualized and typically, services are provided for 20 hours or fewer per week, although, some clients who reside in their family home receive services daily to enable parents to maintain employment, meet other responsibilities, and achieve a better quality of life.

Because services are provided in the client’s or family’s home, there is typically no “waiting” for an available opening in order for someone to begin receiving services.  Services may include:
  • Assisting with financial management/budgeting
  • Cooking skills
  • Exercise and wellness planning
  • Grocery shopping/Dietary planning
  • Household management/cleaning/safety
  • Public transportation
  • Medication administration
  • Assistance with medical issues
  • Social skills
  • Recreation/Leisure skills
  • Vacation opportunities
