Enjoying the Holidays

Several Austin in-home clients & Southwind ladies enjoyed time together for their holiday party. Whether it was playing dirty bingo or sharing treats they had made; a good time was had by all.

Thanksgiving 2016

This year 16 Cardinal clients, staff, and family members celebrated Thanksgiving together. Everyone met at the office around 5:30pm and shared a delicious meal of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, veggies, green bean casserole, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, and dinner rolls. Supper was followed by pumpkin and pecan pie with whipped cream. All who attended relished the company and conversation!

Canvas and “Champagne”

This year for Cardinal Past-times we held a class that was help called Canvas and “Champagne.” The clients were each given their own canvas to paint  to their liking. They also got to enjoy some their own little individual bottles of “Champagne!”  This event was so much fun and filled with lots of laughter and socializing!

Flash back to Halloween

Jackson ladies love to have parties! Most recently they had their annual Halloween party. They invited all kinds of people which included

staff, previous staff, family and friends. They served eyeballs, bloody skin and all sorts of yummies. Everyone who came had so much fun as they socialized and took lots of pictures.  It was so fun delighting everyone who came!

Flash back to Fall

Rodney, Chip and Andy had a great time in the corn maze and getting
pumpkins at Tweites Farm!

Traveling buddies

I had the great pleasure in taking a client on her vacation to Wisconsin Dells, we left on a Friday and returned home on a Monday.  We went to the House on the Rock where we did a lot of walking and which tuckered both of us out. Marsha enjoyed shopping and we had a chance to be goofy trying on hats. Her favorite things to do were shopping, eating and gambling. Although she did not win she loved playing the slot machine that had cats on it. If I had a $1.00 for every time she told me she loved me for taking her and how much fun she was having I would be rich. ~Bonnie

Austin Picnic

Another successful Austin Family/Client/Staff Picnic was held at The Arc Mower County on September 25th.  This years theme was Fiesta and Tacos, Nachos, and many other good meal items were served.  Friends and Family gathered to visit and socialize.  There may have been some typical Austin Shenanigans occurring as well.  Why does everyone have such colorful hair?
Thanks to Jen Spear and Porsche Thornburg for planning another picnic this year.  Thanks Amy Blackstad for assisting them during the picnic.  Thanks to Jamey at The Arc for always assisting us in anyway possible and letting us use The Arc for our yearly picnic.  Thanks to the Cardinal DSP’s who attended and brought the individuals you support to celebrate another year.

Lark Toys

Andy and Rodney from Arbor Court had a fun and at times wacky day at Lark Toys in Wabasha. They both highly recommend you visit there sometime.
