2013 Keystone Award Recipient
On December 12th, Cardinal of Minnesota, Ltd. was named a 2013 Keystone Honored Company. The Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce launched Minnesota Keystone in 1976 to recognize companies that enhance the quality of life in Minnesota by giving back a percentage of pre-tax net earnings every year.
In the category of medium-sized companies, Cardinal of Minnesota received the award for its philanthropy activities, which among others include collaborating with Leadership Greater Rochester to support “The Miracle Field”; a charitable organization that provides individuals with mental and/or physical challenges an opportunity to play softball as a team member in an organized league. The Miracle Field gives these individuals the opportunity to get out in the sunshine, and enjoy playing the game of baseball in its purest form.
Cardinal was the first business in Rochester to enter into a partnership with the American Red Cross in their disaster response efforts to be “Ready When the Time Comes” which provides paid-time off for employees to participate in disaster response as part of a trained team of volunteers.
And although Cardinal was recognized in 2013, they have been a contributor and Keystone member since 2009. When asked what motivates Cardinal to be engaged with it’s community supports, Jack Priggen, President and CEO said “simply, it feels good when we do it”.
